Divination & The Sight
"You want to know the future, sugar? Best look at the present first. The cards don't dictate your life, they just tell you what the weather looks like so you know to bring an umbrella."
🔮 Crystal Scrying (Crystallomancy)
It ain't about seeing a movie in the glass, it's about softening the gaze. You are trying to bypass that busy, logical brain of yours.
- The Sphere: Clear quartz is classic, but Obsidian (volcanic glass) is better for shadow work and protection.
- The Ritual: Dim the lights. Light a single candle behind the ball so it doesn't reflect directly.
- The Gaze: Stare into the center. Relax your eyes until they go a little blurry. Look for smoke, clouds, or movement. Trust the first image that pops into your head.
☕ Tea Leaves (Tasseography)
Grandma’s favorite. This is earthy magick at its finest. Use loose leaf tea (Earl Grey works wonders).
- Drink Up: Leave a sip of liquid at the bottom. Swirl the cup counter-clockwise three times (widdershins) to banish confusion.
- The Toss: Turn the cup over onto a saucer. Let it drain.
- The Read:
Near the rim: Happening soon (days).
Middle: Happening in weeks.
Bottom: The distant future or the outcome.
🪞 Mirror Scrying (Catoptromancy)
Warning: Don't do this if you are feeling fearful or ungrounded. Mirrors are doorways.
Use a Black Mirror (or paint the back of a picture frame glass black). Stare into your own reflection in dim light until your face begins to change or disappear. This is a powerful way to meet your ancestors or see past lives. Always close the portal when done (clap your hands or cover the mirror).
^ Top⛓️ Pendulums
The easiest tool for a "Yes" or "No". You can use a crystal on a chain, or even a needle on a thread.
- Calibration: First, hold it still. Ask, "Show me YES." Watch which way it swings (back and forth, or a circle).
- The Question: Ask, "Show me NO." It should swing the opposite way.
- The Tip: Don't ask questions you already know the answer to, and don't ask if "He loves me" when you know he's playing games. The pendulum hates desperation.
